book trailer

it's National Bullying Prevention Month, and i'm planning a few things here on the blog over the next few weeks to participate.

one thing timed specifically for this month is the release of the book trailer for BUTTER! (feel free to scroll down now. i give you permission.)

you know, i always say i didn't intend to send a message with this book. i just wanted to tell a story. but i write about teenagers, and to me, bullying is a natural part of the teen experience - whether you're a target, a witness or even the bully.
so i'm honored to have BUTTER on bookstore shelves during this important month.

okay, enough rambling. here it is!

Your book trailer is great Erin! I'm usually pretty iffy on book trailers...but this is great. You've inspired me. I may have to do one for The Girl Who Would Be King.

Ok, so I'm going to be completely honest. I judge books by the cover. Well, maybe not the cover.. but the title. As I was browsing through the library, this caught my attention. At first, as I read the description, I thought to myself "Wow. What a weird book." I checked it out because my curiosity got the best of me. Now, I just finished it, and my curiosity compelled me to take a look at this website. This, was inspiring and very truthful to how kids can be hurtful. Me, being in highschool myself, see firsthand how harsh kids can be. I have to admit, what people think of me usually never hits home enough to bother me. But, I know they hurt others, very, very badly. It saddens me that so many have such little respect for others, but when I find people that have the same views I do, it makes me feel there's hope.

Vickeh, I'm so glad you found the blog! I love seeing the word "hope" in any feedback about BUTTER. What gives ME hope is people like you, who are strong enough to not let the opinion of others get to you but who still feel for the people who can't brush things off as easily. I wish everyone had your empathy. The world would be a better place!
